For me, the best vpn in China is 12vpn. I went to a several review sites this year, trying to find a vpn. I started online marketing this year and located many the business and blog sites I was attempting to access were blocked. Facebook and blogging weren't really on my "to do list" until this year so I never really noticed the great firewall until this year.
When in search ofthe best vpn in China there were many popular sites, namely Freedur, Strong vpn, Witopia and 12vpn. To get to the point, I chose 12vpn because of the priceand the easeof signing up. For the lite version its less than half the cost of the nearest competitor. I wanted to attempt something that if it didn't work out, I could say, oh well, it didn't price that much anyway. For the lite option its 30 dollars a year which works out to less that three dollars a month. the lowest priced company next to that is going to run you five to seven dollars a month.
Registering is also uncomplicated. There not a lot of excess advertising, and vpn jargon like pptp and what not. You can find basically two alternatives - Grade A and Grade B. The lite version does come with limitson the quantityof stuff you can upload and download but you'd have to really make an efforthard to "run out" of the 10 gigabytes they give you. I watch movies just about each day and I've never used over 6 gigs in a month. Watching Youtube can also be slow depending on the day. I don't know what it is about Youtube because on other sites I can stream video with no problem, but well, I guess it just will depend on the sites. Sometimes I can stream without having to wait for the video to load, but sometimes it takes forever.
However, I still consider 12vpn the best vpn in China because I really don't need to watch Youtube when I've got Youku (now Souku? what's with that?) with basically the same stuff. However, you could possibly be a fan of Youtube or have higher expectation with regards to internet usage. In that case you can attempt the personal version that's 70 dollars a year as well as has a six month option. No limitations and faster connection - however I've never tried it and can't vouch for it because being the best vpn in China..
I can however say that I've tried the cheapest version of strong vpn. Their cheapest version is 45 dollars for 6 months, which works out to six or seven dollars depending on the length of time you buy. Not since cheap, but still pretty low-priced. It is a little faster than the lite version of 12vpn, but not by much, and you'll still experience the slow streaming video every once in a while. Installation and ordering wasn't as simple but once you get it installed it's easy to use and their customer service was superb.
