Many of us have many great ideas but for some reasons, we just can't seem to be able to actualize them. Instead, many choose to give excuses such as I can't do it, the timing is not right, I don't have the time, and so on.

You see, most people tend to blame the circumstances around them and use them as excuses why they don't succeed in life. But they often fail to see that the one that actually stops them from success is THEMSELVES! Not the circumstances.

So, the truth is, not succeeding in anything you have wanted to do in your life is because of YOU! It is not about your circumstances or the current economic crisis, it is in essence, all about YOU!

When you are not in full control of your life, many things could lead you to failure. When you cannot direct your path in times of difficulties, you could easily be swayed, discouraged, and take your eyes off your goals.

Therefore, to succeed in life, you need to take control of your life. You need to take over the streering wheel and drive yourself to the path to success. Many people prefer to be in the passenger's seat rather than the driver's seat. They prefer other people to take charge and drive their lives.

How does a person take control of his life? You might say this is easier said than done, and it is indeed. If it were easy, you would find more successful people today. But although the road ahead may be full of complications and challenges, being in control is within your capabilities.

You see, we all have the power to take control of our own lives. The question is... are we willing to do so? Many people are afraid of looking inside and find the power within them. If you have the courage to looking in and discover your own strengths, you will take charge and you will take control of your own life.

Here are some tips you can use and apply to help you find that courage that will allow you to look within and uncover the power:

1. Be proactive

Being proactive is one of the key requirements for taking control and yet so often we fail to do just that. In everything you do, be accountable for it. When you can ingrain such a principle in your mind, you will be more apt to plan ahead and devise ways to deal with challenges and problems positively and effectively.

2. See the bright side of thing

Life is full of challenges and problems. To make thing worst, there are a lot of negative people around ready to pull us down. Most people tend to see thing from a negative perspective, especially when they are faced with some problems. Needless to say that if you look at a problem from its negative side, you will never find a solution for it. You will only add more problems to it.

On the other hand, if you can train yourself to look at thing from a bigger picture or the positive side, you are going to find the solution soon. You see, every problem has a solution and you will find the solution if you think and act positively.

People get easily frustrated when things do not turn out the way they wanted it to be. If they are not able to see the bigger picture, such frustrations might be the cause for the lack of motivation. In every goal you have set, whether for your career or for personal purposes, you must be able to see the bigger picture. You have to know what you need to do to accomplish those goals. You have to be prepared to meet the challenges and know how to overcome them. When you can see the bigger picture, it is easier to be on top of things.

3. Get rid of the clutter

One of the things that can successfully help you lose control of your life is clutter. A messy desk, unorganized daily activities, and heaps of household chores are great letdowns. Get rid of the clutter and you will be more likely to work enthusiastically and get more things done. Keeping your work area organized and planning ahead can help prevent clutter in your life.

4. De-stress

Have you ever felt all stressed out that you find it difficult to function already? When your emotional and mental well-being are not at its optimum levels, it is really difficult to be productive. So, instead of forcing yourself, take time out from your work. Go some place where you can de-stress and forget about your problems. When you are rejuvenated, you will get more things done, and you will be able to do your tasks willingly and gladly.

5. Stop worrying about things you cannot control

Many people stress over the things that they have no control of. This is going to drain your energy and waste your resources. There are certain things in life that we have no capacity to change and are best to be left as they are. Focus on things that you have control of so that you utilize your energy and resources on the right place. You will find yourself to be more happy and fulfilled if you can stop worrying about things that you can't control and concentrate on things that you can.

I have shared with you some great tips on how to take control of your life. I hope you find the information useful and will put it into good use.
