Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to helping the environment, Bridgestone Tyres has announced that it is sponsoring The Bridgestone Eco-Rally for low and zero emission vehicles. Bridgestone Tyres is delighted to have the opportunity to showcase vehicles of the future as a practical demonstration of the versatility of the many different environmentally-friendly fuels that are now available. Fully aware that climate change is not something that should be taken lightly, Bridgestone Tyres is already committed to reducing the impact of motoring on the environment through the ‘Make Cars Green' initiative.
Helping to ensure a healthy environment for current and future generations, Bridgestone Tyres intends this year's Bridgestone Eco-Rally to showcase the very latest concepts and low emission technology for mass motoring and to highlight vehicles eligible for the Government's forthcoming plug-in car grant. Bridgestone Tyres are keen to carry on the trend established by previous participants, which include the Tesla electric sports car, the electric MINI, the Mitsubishi iMiEV and bio-fuelled sports cars from Lotus. Bridgestone Tyres is also hoping to showcase further innovative ideas such as BMW Hydrogen 7 limousines, fuel-cell powered prototypes from e.g. Ford, GM and Nissan and mainstream hybrids and F1 KERS style technology from the likes of Honda, Lexus and Toyota that have previously appeared.
According to Bridgestone Tyres, the rally will bring along well-known Formula One names on Wednesday 7 July, when the convoy of vehicles will travel the famous Veteran Car Run in reverse, driving from Brighton's seafront to London's Hyde Park. At the park, the rally will join a free to attend green transport exhibition at the Royal Albert Memorial. Launched in 2007 by HRH Prince of Wales, the Bridgestone Tyres Eco-Rally event has had support from the worlds of politics, entertainment, sport and the arts and over the past three years, the Bridgestone Tyres Eco-Rally has received lots of attention from the media and well-known supporters and partners.
Working alongside Bridgestone Tyres, the event is organised by Revolve; an organisation committed to accelerating the market for zero emission transport. For their part, Revolve are also delighted to have a major sponsor such as Bridgestone Tyres on-board along with their F1 contacts which add a new twist to what is already a unique and innovative event. It really shows the British public that industry is developing green alternatives to conventional transport and Bridgestone Tyres is confident that the new breed of eco vehicles can live up to the expectations of the F1 drivers.
