One man is into portraiture with a range involving subjects like alligators to parakeets to a prized black angus and this is growing to become a successful and highly specialized art business. As he says it, ""If someone wishes a portrait of a pet flea, so be it on the condition that there's an excellent picture of it given"". To date, he has confined his work to an alligator, rabbits, horses, birds, cats, and dogs.
His attention was drawn to creatures and the arts as a youngster. When one has a wife and a child to support it is not as easy to make a decent living off of selling fine paintings as all artists are familiar with. Not only did he continue his studies at the Bay Area but he also aimed for a career in commercial art. He started his own display business in World War II and engaged in fine art as a hobby.
His wife suggested that he develop his hobby into a business when he painted a portrait of two siamese cats owned by a friend especially after it delighted the cats to a point where they rubbed and purred against the painting almost destroying it as a result. Considering his income from the pet portrait painting business this is somewhat astounding.
The cow palace was the home of his freshest masterpieces. From then on he was showered with commissions to come up with portraits of fine show horses, a pet parakeet whose owner raised it from an egg, and also a champion rabbit. To make a portrait of his horse was the request he received from a well known television actor singer who was a recording artist. He was especially chosen to paint the winning black angus. It is something better than painting people portraits for him and he says that the subjects do not kick.
One big university in Santa Clara has a new director of the gallery and museum and she was the former director of a big museum in San Jose and she took on the job about a month ago after a reverend died early last month. A renowned artist is what she is and she exhibited nationally as well as locally at the palace of the legion of honor.
Displaying the works of a local sculptor is a gallery in San Francisco. It is in the exhibit where thirty of his works will be displayed and these will cover neo classical to highly abstracted forms. He is a highly talented artist who is also a writer and photographer apart from conducting a ballet school. He was one of the stars in the film, spectre of a rose. A display will be extended in a famous museum and it will be exhibiting more than 200 objects, paintings, prints, books, and sculptures from a private collection.
Owned by a couple from Pennsylvania is a collection spanning 50 years. It is a collection of scores of other historic greats and the works of a dozen famous painters. For the book collection of the husband it got started when he was still a student of Harvard but he has purchased many of the more valuable objects on installment adding to his collection.
