The New York Times lately reports this inspirational tale of a Korean grandmother:

"This diminutive woman, now known nationwide as 'Grandma Cha Sa-soon,' has achieved a record that causes people here to first shake their heads with astonishment and then smile: She failed her driver's test hundreds of times however never gave up. Finally, she got her license - on her 960th try.

"For three years starting in April 2005, she took the test once a day five days a week. After that, her pace slowed, to about twice a week. But she never quit.

"Hers is a fame based not only on sheer doggedness, a quality held in high esteem by Koreans, nevertheless also on the universal human sympathy for a monumental - and in her case, cheerful - loser.

"When she finally got her license, we all went out in cheers and hugged her, giving her flowers," said Park Su-yeon, an instructor at Jeonbuk Driving School, which Ms. Cha once attended. "It felt like a huge burden falling off our back. We didn't have the guts to tell her to quit because she kept showing up.""

Beginners in internet marketing have something to discern from the victory of Grandma Cha Sa-soon.

She had assurance that someday she would eventually earn her driver's permit. However it wasn't the end view only that aided her to succeed nevertheless also the discipline to tackle her every day issues.

This necessity for equilibrium between confidence and discipline is properly illustrated by the chronicle shared by Admiral James Stockdale.

Admiral Stockdale spent eight years in Hanoi and was tortured many times by his captors.

Mr. Thomas Barnett narrates:

"Stockdale tells the narrative of the optimists who never survived their time in Hanoi, simply because they clung far too much to their dreams of release and in doing so couldn't handle the brutal realities of what it took to outlive the day to day.

"So instead of dealing with the here and now realistically, they tended to cling to the hope that they'd be home by whatever the next holiday was, and when that day came and went, their spirit would be diminished by that measure.

"Over time, they died because their spirit was extinguished by reality."

Stockdale's explains his "paradox" this manner:
"You must never confuse conviction that you will prevail in the end (which you can never afford to lose) with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be."

If you are in a situation right now where you feel like giving up, don't lose hope. Continue focusing on that day you finally tide over this difficult phase however at the same time discipline yourself to do whatever you have to do at the moment.

Concentrate on chances, not obstacles. James Yorke says, "The most successful people are those who are good at Plan B." So get ready for your Plan B too. Life is changeable but once you have sufficiently planned for contingencies, you can look forward to large success, knowing that you've projected virtually every difficulty and can make it through.
