What causes a bride to transform into a Bridezilla?
Shocking as it may seem, many beautiful, congenial , loving brides succumb to the pressures of the wedding. It is not uncommon for an otherwise well spoken and polite bride to begin snapping, screaming , and emotionally igniting without notice over the most trivial details. In extreme cases, a bride may even launch into fits of slapping, scratching, and kicking. This is popularly described as the emergence of Bridezilla.
Usually, friends, relatives, and observers are stunned by the sudden transformation of the bride. The regression comes unexpectedly and without warning. Taking a bit more objective view of things employing just a little more in depth inspection ; we can see this transformation occurs much like the "straw that breaks the camel's back". Little insignificant inconsequential things seem to activate the transformation .
When a woman embraces her man at the wedding proposal, she seldom things of all the details involved in a wedding. She is elated and positive emotions flood over her. But as the days pass and the clock ticks down to the wedding, waves of details can come crashing on to shore. The physical strain and stress can be a challenge, but the emotional roller coaster of wedding planning can become overwhelming.
Your wedding is suppose to be a fun time full of loving expression, laughter, gaiety, and celebration. It should not be marked by desperation, panic, or aggravation. Yes, there are many details surrounding a wedding, but they should not cause the Bridezilla change . Calamity should be prevented in advance of the wedding.
As the story goes, Santa has a list and he is checking it twice to see who is naughty and nice. In similar fashion, a bride needs her own wedding lists and check it again and again to make sure every detail turns out nice not naughty. Most events that cause a Bridezilla regression can be prevented with good planning.
Bridezilla seldom appears when the bride is enjoying herself, feeling the love, relishing the moments, and being carried away with the celebration of her marriage. Unfortunately, someone must manage all the little details. One of the best ways to insure that the details are all taken care of properly is to hire a capable wedding coordinator and give yourself plenty of time to process with them. Those little details and the big ones suddenly disappear because your wedding coordinator is managing them. All you have to do then is enjoy.
As a little girl, you may have dreamed of your wedding. You may have spent hours upon hours fashioning in your mind all the details of flowers, wedding gown, and more. Your dreams are huge. Unfortunately, they can be very expensive and involve a lot of work. As a bride, you real mission is to communicate with your wedding coordinator and minister what you want. Then let them create the dream wedding for you following your design.
In addition to the normal details of choosing flowers, arranging caterer, finalizing the vows, and enduring the final fitting of the wedding gown; there are some more personal pressures. Very few brides want to hurt the feelings of well meaning family members, but there are many people who what to put their two cents worth into your wedding. You can choose to become Bridezilla over these situations, or you can refer them to your wedding coordinator. Oh, you and your wedding coordinator are on the same page because you have a well developed plan and your wedding coordinator is implementing that plan.
Whose wedding is this anyway? Is it yours? Then let it become reality without confusion, discord, and turmoil. Let it become the joyous event you have dreamed of. Let others help you get the wedding of your dreams. But do it in advance. On the day of the wedding rehearsal and especially on the day of the wedding, every detail should have been settled so you and your groom can float through the event billowed by your love and oblivious to the details.
Be a bride, not a Bridezilla. Embrace love, joy, peace, and celebrate your wedding. Leave Bridezilla out.
