Technically this is more or less solved and the solution can really take a lot of weight off owners shoulders and making enquiry management and booking manipulation much easier. The solution is an application called Auto-Responder.
It is a program that sends automated answers to those who send you E-mails. It is like an aswering machine but in an E-mail format: "Thank you very much for sending this E-mail; I am on holidays and away from my desk. Please call me after the 1st of January". Whoever sends a message to your mail adress will receive this correspondence for as long as you allow it.
Imagine how this can work for your vacation rental by owner Business; you already know on average, what they will ask you by E-mail, so you can create an answer that will cover all these topics, and add it on an auto responder. Every time you get an enquiry mail, you will be sending all this information back automatically, together with your booking links.
So if the prospects are covered by your e-mails they will by going straight to the booking page. In case your information does not cover them completely, then you will know. Because together with the auto responder you will setup a message forwarder; people will send their enquiries to your ‘auto responder mail’ and the forwarder sends them to your normal mail. So if you become engaged in a mail conversation your prospect will answer you in your normal email otherwise he will be getting the auto-responder every time he answers.
