Being an older American does not make life any easier. Everyone says that folks who are in their old age should not be driving, but people do not seem to understand that without their cars, they are not going to be able to get around. They have to get to doctors appointments, the grocery store, and out and about to pay their bills. Heaven forbid they would like to have some sort of social life, or make it to church on the weekends!
What is even more infuriating is that their auto insurance rates are going up. My grandma has only had one accident in her entire life. The accident was a very minor fender bender that happened just last year. Her auto insurance rates went up almost a hundred dollars a month, just due to that one little fender bender! I feel like she cannot get a break. Car insurance is expensive enough as it is without having to worry about premiums going up after a minor accident. My son caused a major car pile up recently and though his premiums did increase, the change was not as drastic or sudden as I am seeing in my grandmothers auto insurance. Maybe it is time to switch auto insurance companies.
My sister and I are working to help find some value auto insurance that is both economical, and provides great coverage for a senior like her. I am irritated about all this happening with my current auto insurance company, because our family has been with them for over 30 years now. The last time my father changed our auto insurance, I had been a young child, it was that long ago! You would think a larger auto insurance company would have a little more loyalty. We have been with our car insurance company since it was literally in the beginning stages, so it disheartens me a bit to think that our auto insurance company would forget its oldest and most loyal customers when we need their services the most.
I think what I need to do next is call my families current auto insurance company and see if I can get a better deal out of them. If nothing else, I have already found a great car insurance company online with good policy prices, and they even have great reviews online so I might just switch. My neighbor recently got into a minor car accident, and their car insurance company made everything a breeze. I only wish things had gone that way when my grandmother had her fender bender!
I am going to call my old auto insurance company right now, but I will definitely have the number for this new car insurance company right by the phone in case I need it! I need great service and good prices. As a paying customer, that is what I deserve from a car insurance company and I hope everyone else makes sure their car insurance company is giving them the best value too.
