Mobile Drives- Portable units have the option of two different hard drives that can fit internally. These mobile drives are the WD Scorpio Black and the WD Scorpio Blue. Neither of these consume much power at all and they are very cool to run. The quietness of these drives is astounding, especially when combined with the other features just mentioned. The smaller of the two, Scorpio Black, has a capacity of 320GB, an RPM of 7200, a freefall sensor, and SATA 3 Gb/s. Scorpio Blue is 2. 5 inches with 1TB capacity, SATA 3Gb/s interface.
This fall sensor found in the Scorpio Black ensures parking of the head in the event of a fall. Disk damage is prevented by this head parking mechanism. Both the Scorpio Black and the Scorpio Blue have SecurePark as well. This feature saves the disk from extra wear by parking the head off to the side of the disk when the drive isn't being used. The parking will also occur during the start up of the disk and the stopping.
Western Digital internal hard drives also includes various other 2. 5 & 3. 5 SATA hard drives, SAS hard drives, and two different AV internal hard drives. Video surveillance and PVR/DVR requires technology that has video and audio environments that are very demanding.
