Your article summary may possibly be the most important part of your article following the title. Why is that? Because the title plus the summary are what readers see when scanning search engine entries. As a way to get people to read your article, you must grab their interest with a very good summary. Here are 3 ideas to attract a reader's interest:
1) Ask a pertinent question that includes your search keywords. Identify precisely what your potential readers are looking for. What's the problem they are attempting to resolve, the question they are attempting to answer. It may be your readers wish to save a relationship, stop a teen from using drugs or earn money on the internet. Whatever it happens to be, put it in the form of a question to engage the readers and start the thinking process. If you ask a question in the initial sentence of your summary, the readers will continue to second sentence to get the answer.
2) Answer the question. In a single succinct sentence, tell your potential reader precisely how to solve the difficulty. You won't give any detail here, needless to say, but you need to tell the readers that you know the answer to their question, you can help them with their problem. The readers have to know that a more detailed answer lies inside your article and all they have to do is continue reading to locate it.
3) Tell your readers what they need to do and the reason why. Start the third sentence of the summary with an action verb for the readers, use a phrase like "Learn how," "Check out" or "Discover the truth about." These aren't only action verbs, but they indicate that your readers will get some good information when they read your article. Then inform the readers specifically what they are going to learn. "Five ways to," "The secret of," "How the experts," something along those lines. Bear in mind, you want the readers to know there's useful info in your article and it's theirs for the taking.
When you understand to write an attention grabbing summary that provides readers a good reason why they should read your article, you should see your article views increase rapidly. Keep in mind, whatever your topic, there are actually tons of articles just like it on the net. You'll want to give readers a real reason to decide on your article over all the others.
