MSN, or Yahoo's homepage is a stark difference. It is heaped with sorts of stuff to do games to the news. This stuff is useful, but distracts people from typing into the search box and monetizing. it could be a major part in why Google has such a gigantic lead in the volume of searches they receive compared to other players.
