Replacement water filters. Is the cost of replacement cartridges a problem?
If you understand the risks associated with drinking water from the regular municipal water supplies then you understand the need for a great water filter, not just a good one, so there's no doubt that you need a good water filter in your home.
But if you've decided you need a water filter and look at those available you'll find that many require regular replacement of cartridges. Should you worry about this?

There are water filter comparisons done which show that the best water filters cost around 9.6 cents per gallon to use, and some of the others can cost anywhere up to 25 cents a gallon to use, and that's with all costs, including replacement cartridges, included.
With 10 water filters tested the best water filters actually came out the cheapest of all to use, and they use replacement filters.
So if youre looking for a water filter and are wondering about the cost of cartridge replacements then rest easy, the best water filter is also the cheapest water filter to buy and use. The best replacement water filters are in fact extremely good value.
