We often see people exercising at various times and wonder if it's the right time. Do you work out regularly?, it's not easy to find time in your busy schedule for it is it? Have you ever wondered if that late night or early morning workout is doing more harm than good? No, you aren't causing any harm to your body with off hour workouts, but you may be depriving yourself of much needed sleep. Your body can adapt to whatever you set your workouts for. Even though researchers may dispute this fact, you still must do what works for your body and schedule. There are however many considerations you should think about when choosing the best time to exercise.
Some researchers have rightly pointed out that the body temperature is at a low point up to three hours before waking-up in the morning. We assume it is about a six or seven o'clock wake-up.
Forcing yourself into an early morning workout can be a mistake that may cause you injury because your body is not ready to exert that kind of energy yet. Research has shown that we can reset our biological clocks through a routine of habit, so what that means is just plow through it in the beginning. In a short time your body will adjust to the demand of morning exercise. After a while your new morning routine will feel normal.
Your environment is something you should be aware of when engaging in afternoon or lunch time fitness activity. Your lungs don't function at top function as research shows somewhere around lunch time. If you do power walks outside and walking along a busy street, then that combination puts you at a less than ideal environment for aerobic activity. Still, it is better than doing nothing at all. But just remember that plus take extra precautions during the hot and humid summer months, if applicable. Keep yourself well hydrated.
You do know that you need a healthy balance in your life. Life is too busy and hectic. Be flexible. Remember that it is most important to be able to be consistent and not quit your training or exercise program. Even if you need to vary your routines it's imoportant to do it. Noone else can make these decisions for you they are your responsibility. So set a schedule that works for you and stay with it.
You will have a better chance of success this way.
If you work full time during the day you have perhaps more options for exercise than most. Sort out your daily schedule, and stick to it.
