You need to avoid being one of these and know when to decide on the ideal weight loss and what time span you have to achieve your ideal weight loss target.

To begin with it is important that you learn what your ideal weight is. One of the best places for you to find this out is with your personal doctor or perhaps a professional weight therapist.

Therefore body weight is just one of the ways to measure you overall body fitness and other variables should be considered as well; to give you an even better picture.

Once you have determined in your own mind, what your ideal weight should be, it is a good idea to write it down. After doing that you should include how much weight you will need to lose; to maintain a healthy weight loss. Now you need to calculate the amount of calories you will need to cut back to enhance your shedding of the extra pounds. You need to know a simple calculation to achieve this, which is every 3000 calories will equal one pound. Depending on the amount of weight you wish to lose you need take this calculation into play.

In theory you can lose this weight in as little time as you wish, but this isn't a good practice to get into. If you lose to much weight to fast it can be unsafe. In doing this form of weight loss you can throw your body into shock and you can end up in the hospital as a result.

An ideal healthy weight loss should include at least 1200 calories a day, depending on your gender. Therefore it is unrealistic to expect more than one to two pounds a week in weight loss.

When you set a proper weight loss goal, by following the above steps, you will be well on your way to achieving a healthy weight loss. However, if you should experience side effects, such as dizzines, shortness of breath, irregular heart beat or extreme weakness, you should consult a physician immediately.
