It has been a lengthy season for the Colts, this just isn't the way that they had been expecting issues to go for them this season. After 12 games the present record stands at 6-6. This could be looked at the galss is half empty, or that the glass may possibly have a crack in it, regardless of how you take a look at it, you'll find a number of issues that will need to be improved on for the final 4 games. This is going to be the gut check time for the team in permitting them to get a real fell of their status.
Four games, is all that seperates them from the post season. While this will not go down as the best season ever, if all factors are in place, then they will at least have a shot at the Super Bowl. One loss though erases this dream. So the question is to be asked, what will it take to get the team past the final four games.
Manning has been going through a slump as of late and this has led his team to the record that they currently have. The good news is that the team can still fix things and head into the playoff picture, the problem becomes that this as a result will mean that there is no room for mistakes in the future, one slight misstep, and the team may suffer as a result. There are four games left and the Colts need to win all four of the games to remain as a viable contender.
Running the ball will be one thing that needs to be looked at as being a great back up plan for the team to use. Since the passing game is a little off, then the running game will need to make sure that they step up and fill in the gaps that are currently in the offense. Joseph Adei is one of the players that need to step up and make some massive plays on the field in an effort to make the most from his time. He is often times the go to man for Manning, if this fails, then the Colts will be in some serious trouble in the final four games of the season.
The running of the ball will be an important aspect that needs to be looked at carefully in the coming weeks, the more efforts that are placed on the field, then the better the results will be for the team.
2010 is a season that Peyton Manning is hoping will come to a fast end. If all goes well, then the team still can make the playoffs, the only problem is they will need to be perfect and not lose another game this season. Anything less, and the team will be out of the postseason. It is still a winnable season that can be salvaged with the right amount of effort.
