1. Don t hire people too fast.
When the money is coming out of your pocket its easy to get down all your employees case about the little stuff. Learn to be smart about having employees do certain task and start to outsource more.
2. Go deep into one niche first.
Don t go out and buy anything, anymore that wont directly impact your single business. As entrepreneurs is so easy to get a.d.d and go out and buy products about a bunch of differences. When starting out stick with one niche until you have a extremely fluent business model when everything is systematized so well to the point where you can step away and oversee all the managers. This has been the one thing that I think I ve lost more money with than anything else. Stick with one Business and drop the rest!
3. Get an office assistant.
There s a lot of things that go into a successful online Business. You don t want to overwhelm yourself with a lot of small tasks you can train an assistant to do. You can even outsource an assistant for around $200 mo. so if you think its going to cost you an arm and a leg to get an assistant think again.
4. Put together a live seminar.
you might think your business Isn t at the point where you feel your enough of an expert in your niche to put on a live seminar but your wrong. There will always be somebody out there that has less knowledge than you that will be willing to pay for. Start small, make sure you get testimonials and referrals from all the seminars you put on.
5. Not adding a membership program to your site earlier.
Nobody can argue that a membership site is one of the best things about having a website. Right now, Imagine that all the people that were on your list were paying you $30 dollars a month. Most people I speak with don t implement a membership site until they have a list of 3,000 + people. Think about that for a minute....If all those 3,000 people were paying you $25 mo. that would mean $75,000 mo/$900,000 yr.
Think, What could and extra $900,000 yr do for you and your family?
6. Systematize everything.
have your Business model and sales process so systematized to where you can plug any employee in and get a good result. When I say that you want to have all your metrics figured out before you put an employee in charge of a task. you also want to have certain amount of time every day/wk to training employees so they are more efficient.
7. Spending too much time at the office.
Starting an online business is a very exciting and at first you will want to do nothing but try to finish projects and spend you time thinking about future expansion of your Business. No matter what, there is no amount of money that you could trade for the time you cant replace with your Family. You ll never remember going to the office and finishing a project, you ll remember taking you son to his first t ball game.
