Some of the differences are going to be very subtle so you will have to do your homework if you want to spot the mistakes.
Buttons are another place where companies that make replicas do a very poor job. The next time you have the opportunity, look at the buttons on a genuine designer piece. Designer buttons often have the company logo on them or they will have a design on them. Cheap imitations are often plain.
Do not get fooled by cheap imitations. If you know how the genuine article should look and feel, there is far less chance of anyone deceiving you with a cheap imitation.
