"Any discovery of ETI [extraterrestrial intelligence] is likely to produce a mix of emotions including fear, pandemonium, equanimity and delight," Harrison wrote. "People conditioned by years of participation in UFO clubs, science fiction and an endless parade of purported documentaries may find the discovery anticlimactic."
