Remarkably - our bodies can actually remove stretch marks caused by pregnancy- all by themselves. Well certainly 80% of it. While it won't completely remove all stretch marks - your skin will appear smoother, stretch marks would have faded giving the appearance of very fine lines thus repairing damaged skin. So what steps should you take to help remove stretch marks if pregnant?
First and foremost - this goes out to every woman. A good skincare regime for the entire body is your first step toward helping the body to remove stretch marks. Very often women only concentrate on visible skin- i.e. face, hands, legs and pretty much omitting looking after the skin everywhere else. Women will spend hundreds on exfoliating agents for their face, knowing how important it is to clean away dead skin cells and other impurities, but rarely think about exfoliating other parts of their bodies. Removing those unwanted dead skin cells can help to remove stretch marks as damaged and scarred skin is sloughed away.
You can pick exfoliating soaps, loofahs and other similar type products in any drugstore - they are very inexpensive and they work a treat. Removing this top layer of dead skin can help remove stretch marks as the body pushes healthy skin cells up to replace them. You can exfoliate on dry skin or when you're in the shower. Make sure you add plenty of moisturizer afterwards.
Keeping well hydrated is your number #2 priority. Sure it helps your completion and even with weight loss - but it works wonders also in helping your body remove stretch marks. When your skin is well hydrated it is easily bounces back into shape after your skin stretched during your nine months of pregnancy.
You see every movement we make stretches the skin. Dry skin makes it that little bit more difficult for the skin to shape back to its original state as the damage is a little more severe. But when skin is adequately hydrated it's less likely to be damaged with stretch marks and can remove stretch marks on its own using that hydration (i.e. drinking plenty of water) and moisture (i.e. using plenty of moisturizer). Hydration will also allow the skin to repair itself after any injury or scar as moisture is needed to encourage blood flow which is essential to healing.
Besides hydration and proper nutrition it is equally important what you put on your skin. Many lotions and creams that are cheap often don't penetrate the skin deep enough in order to make it heal scars and stretch marks. So it is important to choose the right cream both during and after your pregnancy as that will increase the chances of you experiencing less stretch mark and help fade them away over time.
Watching your diet is equally as important. The vitamins, minerals, and amino acids found in fresh fruits and vegetables are very important to the body's healing capabilities and to skin's health overall health. You can help your body remove stretch marks by it by eating right and by ensuring you include these foods into your diet.
