The modern thing to hit the fitness scene continues to be group fitness classes. Why are group fitness classes very popular? That's what I wondered, so I set out to interview a whole bunch of people that have took part in either boot camps or other types of fitness classes to discover what makes them quite popular.
Reason primary is because it's actually a harder workout than the usual "regular" sport. Most fitness orientated people usually play a sports activity like indoor soccer or basketball some day a week at the least. And although these are great activities, people find they obtain a more intense workout with fitness classes. The grounds behind this may be that a majority of people are much more social at recreational sports and active gatherings then in a specific organized workout. Classes are a bit more serious and intense and yes it seems like everyone shares a common goal. There's one common objective to get in incredible shape and improving performance or physique.
The more people I asked though, greater I heard exactly the same themes coming.
People just like the group environment because so many people are working towards one goal or any other within fitness. People such as the encouragement and also the competition to maintain them pushing their limits (no one really wants to function as the weakest or even the slowest). So while had you been on your own you could be tempted to shut it down and look at the water fountain, you're more unlikely to do that with 20 sets of sweaty eyes you.
Camaraderie and potential friendships kept coming up. You are between 20 other well matched people, sharing a standard goal and pushing your limits. An issue like this will start friendships therefore making you feel like portion of group.
A few more bonus reasons which were mentioned were a group of people will be counting on you. The workouts are pre-planned with no possibility to stop or wuss out. You can count on a bunch of people to kick the couch past your comfort zone. And that having structured workout times is an excellent thing.
Also, understanding the instructor has lots of experience is an useful one. Doing stuff on your own with little structure, a lot of people feel like they may be just flailing around. For that reason, they quit to soon, stop going as often, and on and also on until they are back on the couch.
Let's also take into account that most group fitness classes have pretty jamming music. If you are into thumping bass and high tempo tunes, then you're sure to get pumped in the event the music starts cranking.
At the end of the day. It's items like those listed above that have really contributed for the growing trend in group fitness and classes at gyms, recreational centers and parks throughout the country.
So what are you waiting for? There is a class plus an instructor out there just waiting to help you take your lifetime to the next level of health and vitality. Can be as easy to do, is leave the couch and they're going to take care of the rest!
