Years ago, I signed on with Avon. It was when they were just introducing the MLM aspect here in Canada, and I was very excited about it.
I did everything my manager told me to do: I had a route, and delivered door to door, I recycled magazines, I was online with a personalized webpage, I took credit cards, and I used their advice in recruiting, I attended every meeting, I did open houses.
After a year, I did my math - and I lost SO much money! I hadn't even broken even in sales and residuals, because I had spent so much on my books every campaign. How could that have been? I had been so busy all year, and did everything I was trained to do!
Sound familiar? Don't despair. Take a deep breath and ask yourself, are you ready to REALLY work from home with your Avon business?
You must be open to learning new things outside of what your upline is training. There are people marketing their MLM businesses in big ways. They're not necessarily with Avon, but they have learned some amazing things about marketing, online ads, pay per click, following up, and getting leads and new recruits that they are sharing with other MLM'ers.
If you want to be a leader with your Avon business (and you CAN if you stay open to learning.) you need to understand that the big money comes from the residuals from your team. The first step in learning how to recruit is to unlearn everything you know about selling. Seriously. No one wants to be pitched. This is one of the big secrets of the big hitters. I know so many Avon ladies that are extremely uncomfortable with the idea of recruiting, and want to stick to selling. But when you're only making 10% on a $3 lipstick, you're working for nothing!
There is a way to build your downline, having people come to you!
Think about how you feel when someone in the mall comes at you with a clip board and wants you to do a survey. Think about how you feel when your approached in the grocery store by someone trying to get you to sign up for a credit card. THAT is how people feel when you come at them with your business opportunity. I can show you how to change that.
