When the bride and the bridegroom start planning for their wedding portraits and for the wedding day itself, they should attempt to be as natural and unconcerned as possible. A neat look can be attained if the bridegroom tries for a new haircut and sticks to crisp collared shirts. If wedding ties define the groom's personal taste, stick to it and do not opt for any last minute changes. The groom may be interested in sporting his favorite tuxedo but he needs to make sure that the fitting is still intact.

Experimentation with the hair color or style should be avoided by the bride by all means for the wedding day or the portrait. The bride should wear something which complements the bridegroom's attire if she is not wearing a wedding gown. An over sized boutonniere that even exceeds the outer peak of the label has to be avoided as it can look shabby. The bride should go for an uninterrupted shoulder line in a garment if the corsage is long so that I can be pinned.

It is best to go with the makeup that she is completely familiar with and thus confident about. The bride has to keep new shades of lipsticks and blush for another day but the wedding. If possible, she should only try to keep the eye make-up at a minimum. It is so because the studio's lights can make it look much harsher.

Care should be taken while applying the blush on, brush or an applicator should be used to outline the cheekbone's firm line, applying only a faint color, carrying it down to the cheek line's edges. A really light color in minimal quantities should be applied at the base of the chin. A definite color should attribute the lips, also following the lip line. A pressed powder can be applied to the face and the neck for a sparkling yet subtle finish.

Highlighting of the face may be required to achieve a better look for the photographs. A lot of assistants just accepts the makeup as you choose it while the others give suggestions for approval. Many photographers also help bridegrooms to use tricks that make them look better in the final images. Just before the picture is taken; he can rub a cologne stick over his cheek bones and forehead, and then pat it with a tissue.
