CBS Flicks came out with a new action film branded "The Mechanic" into theaters . I viewed it,and it was pretty good. It moved at a very fast pace as all Statham motion pictures usually do,and featured a bunch of fantastic killing action, and more. The film features: Jason Statham, Ben Foster, Donald Sutherland, and Christa Campbell.
The Mechanic movie centered around a dude named Authur . Arthur is actually a mechanic, which is a professional killer. He earns money to wipe out people who are sketchy,or that have been involved with some crooked operations. He's given records and photos of the individuals he's hired to wipe out. Authur eliminates them in innovative ways, ways that can't be associated back to him or the people he works for.
Things are all going good for him in his career of choice as he's labeled among the finest in his business. Unfortunately, things take an extremely bad turn when his mentor and dear friend Harry is found on the hit list to be wiped out. Arthur requests a meeting with the boss to obtain additional details, and is told if he doesn't perform it,some other person will because Harry has supposedly been tipping people off about their murder assignments.
After Arthur completes the job of getting rid of Harry,Harry's son Steve appears on the scene, and ultimately asks Arthur to show him everything he knows about being a mechanic killer. They eventually do a few jobs together, but the finest job is yet to come.
Arthur ends up finding out that the murdering job he performed on Harry was part of a massive conspiracy by his boss. From that point on, Arthur has nothing but payback on his brain, and brings Steve along for the ride to get payback for Harry's death. I won't give the ending totally away, but lets just say that Steve ends up finding out that Arthur was the man who killed his father.
This fact brings about a large twist towards the conclusion, which entails a lot of guns being fired, loony car chases with a great deal of damage, and enormous explosions. Also, you should enjoy the final scene because Arthur pulls off a very smart stunt. For a motion picture that's filled with such ugly violence,it's wonderfully played out.
I think Jason Statham did a really great job as usual, playing the cool, tranquil, and collective action star who can really kick butt. The flick never had a dull moment in it. They kept it moving at a decent pace. I gave it a very good A rating.
