Using A Press Release For Free Exposure

Product publicity is the "secret pathway" to business success everyone wants. In simple terms, product publicity is a kind of advertising that costs you nothing whatever, yet brings people to your website to see who or what this is all about. Google loves this and actually sees a press release as NEWS so it gets a higher ranking.

Regardless of what kind of business you're operating, you should strive for as much publicity you can get your hands on. This is a free traffic generating tactic that works very well After all, it's "free advertising" that is essential to the growth of your business. However, your publicity efforts should be well thought out, and pre-planned for maximum results. Using a press release for free publicity can potentially generate a lot of traffic to your site.

The first, and elemental form of obtaining publicity is through what is known as the press or news release. This is generally an one page story about your business, your product/service or an event/happening related to your business that is about to, or has only yesterday occurred. These publicity stories should first be uploaded to your blog and then sent out to contrasting new directories. You can Google companies that will let you put broadcast journalism on their websites about your company using a press release format.

Send your story to the city editor of the newspapers; the news directors of the radio and TV stations, the managing editors of the various trade publications. Think outside the box by doing what most people won't do. The most important thing is that you make conversation with the person who has the absolute say as to what is to be published or broadcast. The bottom line is you have to persuade this person that your press release is going to add significance to his or her readers, viewers or listeners.

Now you need the actual publicity release, which also must be written using the following fonts. For your Title use Tahoma 20 and for the body use Arial 12. Don't write more than 300 to 350 words otherwise your reader will lose interest. Be blunt and to the point, show excitement in your choice of words. In capital letters, type the words, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: From there on, it's the news or publicity story itself. You attract attention and interest with the headline and fill in the details with your story.
Be sure to end with how people can get a hold of you. Use something like "FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT WORKING WITH YOUR NAME".

The timing of your press release is always notable. Try to associate your press release with current events in the news. A story on job lay-offs and increased unemployment carried in the newspapers, on TV and the radio will be ok if that is "the news of the day". You can do a press release on almost any topic just be sure it follows current events. You can do a press release promoting your business showing how you help people make money, get a new job, work from home, be creative.
