Cornwall is one of the best places to visit when your on holiday, and come rain or shine there is something here for every type of person old, young, adventurous and not so much.
Cornwall or Kernow as it is called in the native Cornish language is the UK's most southerly County and is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the whole of the United Kingdom. I'd like to just explore the potential of Cornwall from a tourists perspective and bring to your attention some of the great things there are to do in Cornwall while your here!
I am born and bred in Cornwall and have lived here for the best part of my life so far - I see no reason what so ever to change this, I'd not trade living in Cornwall in for anything. Many visitors to our County eventually retire here and spend out their retirement in comfort in peaceful Cornwall, this or a similar lifestyle in the country side, away from every day hustle and bustle, and why not?
At the end of the day I can't think of that many people who would have a preference to live in the city (or for that matter who can afford to live in the city on a normal pension). I have made many friends over the years from people who travelled down to Cornwall year after year visiting the same towns and sites; so why are people so attracted to Cornwall as a holiday destination?
1. Its charm brings in a load of visitors from all over the UK and internationally, Cornwall is one of the best known places in the UK.
2. Its coastline, its possible to see the sea from most towns in Cornwall and there are vast expanses of coastline without any house obstructing the beautiful views, some protected privately, some by the council and the national trust.
3. The Sea - some places to the north of England in the midlands etc. have no easy access to the sea, only to rivers and streams. In Cornwall your not anymore than a hours drive from the sea, most major tourist attractions in Cornwall are seaside towns and villages.
4. The beaches in Cornwall provide bathing for those looking to relax, recreation for those looking to swim and surfing for those looking for a bit of excitement.
5. Remoteness - Cornwall might be part of the UK one of the most heavily populated Countries in the World, Cornwall is however more sparsely populated and has great access to some of the finest natural environments available in a developed Country.
6. Chilled out - Cornwall has this chilled out feeling to it, as if everyone is more relaxed. Unlike city life where everyone seems to be in a rush to get somewhere.
