I have observed a lot of chickens just walking round the yard and not even daring to fly from it, they solely stay without fear. Some for the chickens acted like pets even, following the homeowners around the yard, begging for a peck of food from their hands. When I finally decided to ask those owners how they did it, they said that they had trained their chickens from an early age using chicken coops.
Call me innocent, but I never connected the chicken coop while using the training of the chickens, I thought that that was where chickens were cooped up. Well, again, I found out that coop can serve many functions, and two of them are to maintain the chickens in as well as to train them.
There are even some who would build chicken coops with an area for the chicken to run in right beside it, if ever the owners like to give their fowl freedom. With the chicken runs, the chickens have the liberty of entering and exiting their coops to their heart's desire. As time moves on, the chickens get acclimatized to the area, learn to trust the protection of it and then the owner can let them out from the coops without fear of them flying off.
There are some chicken coops which can be pyramid-like in structure with flat top. One leg from the chicken gets tied off to a meter long leash with one end pegged down to the ground. The chicken which which has a meter wide freedom yet confined to one area at the same time. Again, eventually the chicken gets to feel at home that when they may be finally untied, they do not bother to fly away.
I discovered that one can find two kinds of the pyramid coops. One is formed out of heavy soldered wired that could be placed under the shade for the trees and also the other one is solid created from various materials. Many of these coops are really very cheap, some needing assembly some might not. They is also made by anyone who is handy which has a hammer, nails and a saw.
Building chicken coops needn't be an ordeal for anyone. Anyone can just go on the internet and download the plans for building a chicken coop then buy the materials as listed and follow the easy instructions. It is basically very cheap and easy to do.
