Having a baby is a wonderful time in your life. There are so many things you will need to get done therefore it may be tough to remember each of the details. Consider first the location where the hospital is located. Is it close to where you live and can you get there with relative ease. If you reside inside the city you may have a number of hospitals in close proximity. But you know residing in the city they most likely are not all easy to get to. And not all babies are delivered during the night time; you may have to deal with rush-hour traffic. You need to create a route to the hospital prior to going into labor. Likewise have an alternative map all set to go, it is far better to over plan than be not really prepared when you are in labor.

So take some time before the baby is born to get to know the facility where you will be having the baby. Most hospitals give tours, so call yours and arrange an appointment to tour the facility. Jot down all the questions you may have and make sure you take it to the tour. And more importantly be sure you ask and get answers to all your questions when you are there. No question is unreasonable, so feel free to inquire about staff, safety and the rooms you'll be using during your stay.
Do not forget to checkout things like parking and validation. The place where you park when you arrive for delivery may be different than where your husband will park when visiting following the birth. You will also want to learn where visitors park and if there is a price and if there is validation. You should do this about a month ahead of your due date. This is also a good time to preregister if the hospital requires this. I understand this might appear to be silly stuff compared to all of the other decisions you have been making, but you with thankful you took the time to find these things out now.
The greater preparation you do now, the less anxiety you will have when you go into labor. So a couple of last minute questions might be if the main doors are secured at a certain time and if so where should you go. You may also want to learn if you need to register or are you able to go directly to the maternity floor.
