DUBturb makes complex beat sequences With Garageband efficiency
Quite sincerely, when I first received this product to review I was a small bit disbelieving because I had never heard of it and my thorough background as a professional musician seems to get in the way of what I always desire in applications involving music. But, I was pleasantly surprised, this application seemed to just have it all. I was never left with the frequent feeling of 'I wish it could do that' which I get with so many music programs. In this thing I plan on deliberating the principal points and features of dubturbo which will allow the average and the musically inclined to create percussion patterns and patterns effortlessly.
There are three main components to dubturbo software which separate it from the rest of the other recording and percussion sequencing programs out there, and of course my share of little things which do as well, though I'll deliberate these 3 popular things first.
The first main part of dubturbo software is the sequencer. The sequencer is the all familar ProTools/GarageBand style screen which shows you the tracks and when they happen to be playing or not displaying. It's not extremely special, though what does set this apart is that it's got 16 tracks. A beat sequencer with 16 tracks is pretty uncommon because most have far less! It's not the endless that ProTools will give you, although will ProTools run on your netbook? I don't think so; dubturbo will. dubturbo software lays out all the sounds easily in the sequencer view, I tend to think of this as my base screen.
The next principal part of DUBturbo is the beat machine. It's apparent that this was very well thought out. Unlike Other music softwrae where you really are forced into beat sequences, dubturbo lets you design anyone one like, or change one which already is there. It's limited to really 10 pads per track, but this allows you to 'type' in the rhythm by using your computer number pad as the drum pad. It changes your keyboard into a drum set and you get to define each sound. There couldn't be a more customized way of doing this either. you can choose either preprogrammed beat 'sets' or make your own. To enter rhythms, one can either adopt your mouse and click on that part of the beat you desire sample to happen or type it in on your drum pad/keyboard. This software is awesome.
The other principal component to dubturbo software is the 4 Octave Keyboard feature. This is THE thing that sets dubturbo apart from the competition. you can insert melodic concepts, harmonic ideas, bass lines, anything with this. Beats excluding bass happen to be boring, repetitious and seriously boring. but add a bass line, or some sort of harmonic or melodic interest and all of a sudden those repetitious beats seem to have some sort of flow and provide attraction to your listeners. dubturbo also makes it effortless as pie to adopt the keyboard thing. By using your computer keyboard, you can put the notes in just like you were in front of a piano. It's so effortless and simple to do, I wish that Sibelius or Finale notation application were this easy! dubturbo allows you to use up to 4 Octaves that is a big range. To some that may seem lihowevered, but separateeparate your trackbrutalfficult to feel limited.
Here are the other things that really are really cool about DUBturbo...
There happen to be soooo many tracks you can play with. If you've ever used GarageBand, there just are a lot of different sounds and sequences one can work with, although navigating them takes practice to learn and it's not that easy, with DUBturbo, all the tracks happen to be easy to maneuver. They pop up in the middle of the screen, not just at the bottom like in GarageBand. one can do more with the sounds, you can even alter the keys the tracks are in. In GarageBand you really are stuck to whatever key the sound is in, that may not be the key of your beat. dubturbo software makes changing keys effortless.
dubturbo software lets you upload your beats and sell them to other dubturbo software users. That's correct, writing music is easy on dubturbo and getting paid for those beats is really as effortless!
DUBturbo outputs record quality sounds so you don't have to anguish about loss of quality when you burn to CD.
Using dubturbo is effortless, even for the non-musical user. It includes a video instructional series to help you through, step by step, on how to make simple beats all the way through advanced user features. So learning the software could not be more effortless! These videos just are even great for users accustomed with similar style software because it tells you shortcuts and secrets to conceive using the program easier.
Genuinely, I have not seen an beat sequencing program as carefully put together as dubturbo software. It defineately does have it all and it makes creating beats from any genre effortless and enjoyable.
