DESCRIPTION:

The radio installation in VAUXHALL AGILA. Some Cars have steering controls from new and when you replace your radio. This function and depending on what brand of Head Unit you buy, depends on what to look for to ensure it is compatible with your car.

INSATLLATION:

& #61558;Kenwood head units must have a 4 pin mini din socket on a separate lead coming from the head unit to be compatible, or a dedicated blue wire specifically for steering remote.
& #61558;When using the new PC99 X** range of car steering interface leads, you will also require PC99 KEN to interface with the head unit.
& #61558;For the PC99 range of Steering control leads, offer the dedicated head unit adaptors such as PC99 KEN. These have to be installed in a set order to ensure the head unit recognizes the new leads are attached.
PLEASE FOLLOW THIS ROUTINE WHEN INSTALLING PC99 LEADS:

& #61558;Link the Kenwood interface to the PC99 X## series lead.
& #61558;Plug the main loom (not the din or blue wire) into both the vehicle and the head unit.
& #61558;Power up the stereo by ignition and seek then store a Blue wire on the PC99 KEN to the brown wire marked for steering remote from the head unit.
& #61558;Switch the stereo on by ignition and wait up to 20 minute radio station (this wakes the unit up)
& #61558;Switch the stereo off by ignition.
& #61558;Plug in the 4 Pin Din plug if fitted to the Din socket, or the for audio to come through before testing the remote controls.
& #61558;If in any doubt that this has not been done in the correct order, the loom must be disconnected from the vehicle, the jack disconnected from the stereo and the process started again.
& #61558;The higher technology employed in these units, they operate more like computers then audio systems.
& #61558; so the addition equipment such as CD Changers, Auxiliary inputs and Steering remote control devices, need to be found by the system after it has been awoken as just a stereo.
& #61558;with vehicles that have the new Fakra or Quad lock connection that features a small lever to
make the connection, there is no ignition switched 12v supply.
& #61558;This is usually required for aftermarket head units, and they won t power up without this being
Connected.
& #61558;To resolve the issue, you will need to be technically competent to a small level. You will need to connect the red wire to an ignition switched 12v supply from the fuse box of the vehicle.
& #61558;One such supply would be that which feeds the cigar lighter for example. You may require an electrical test meter to determine the relevant contact.
& #61558;Once the red wire has been connected securely and professionally to a +12v ignition switched supply, the rest of the installation is straight forward.
& #61558;The orange wire also remote on these harness adaptors is only for illumination, and can be connected to a +12v supply on lighting circuit such that radio illumination works when vehicle lighting is switched on, or dims if radio is switched on.

A word about the radio installation kit you are about to install. There are many manufacturers of radio installation kits for this vehicle. Each manufacturer produces slightly different variations of the same kit, and a few make individual kits for specific vehicles. The pictured installation kit shown in the illustrations below is a standard kit used for many. Radio installation kits change with the model and years of production of the vehicle. When selecting a kit for this vehicle, make sure the kit you purchase states on the package the installation kit will work with your vehicle model and year. Some kits may require additional setup. Certain kits may be multi function kits designed to work with multiple vehicles and may require the installer to remove break away screw mounting tabs attached to the kit that are not required for your particular vehicle.
