Company get-togethers usually are not very casual since they also involve work situations and because of that, the alcohol selection has to be closely considered. You can't use beer because it is too average and also you can't have only whiskey and champagne since the choices would be considerably restricted. So, what kind of alcohol do you really need for a company get together?
The choices are limitless and you will mix them in whatever way you want, but there are a couple of alcohol types that you need to keep in mind about. First, there's the punch. Regarded as office favorite and a classic. The celebration would not be exactly the same if punch wouldn't be in somewhere in the mixture. It is a well rounded drink and it can be enjoyed by everyone, male or female, without any kind of problem. It is also pretty cheap to make and the alcohol content can be easily increased, if needed, using the local supplies of pure Scandinavian vodka. The next form of alcohol that should be on the agenda is whiskey. Every adult loves whiskey and it really should not be omitted for the company party. Grown ups really don't get very drunk, so a couple of double malt whiskey is not a bad idea at all. People enjoy whiskey because of it's' elegance and because of the exquisite taste, so they should be able to relax enjoying a couple of glasses. Oh, and don't forget about the ice. Whiskey goes very well with ice.
The last kind of alcohol that you need at the company party is champagne. It is very probably that the get together celebrates some important event in the company, so champagne should be served right at the start. Even so, there are people that love a glass of very cold champagne. Don't forget to buy several types of champagne, an advice that is true for the other types of alcohol as well.
Now, for the presentation. What should you use in terms of glasses? Personally, I always love plastic glasses for punch, but for whiskey and champagne you really need traditional glasses. I can't imagine drinking whiskey from a large plastic cup.
The bar area is also essential for a company party because people love to feel more like in a normal bar than just coming to the office for a drink. At least that is exactly the way I feel. When I go to work, I know that I am going to be busy with work. When I go for a drink and some fun with friends, I am going to a bar. Besides the actual alcohol selection, I think the atmosphere created in the office is very important for a successful and enjoyable party.
