Teen sensation Justin Bieber has exploded on the music scene. In the past he has leaned more towards a pop musical direction, with a little hip hop thrown in for good measure. But could the teen heartthrob make a transition into country? Could "Bieber Fever" go countrified?

Rascal Flatts lead singer Gary LeVox voiced the news when he spoke to country radio station WSIX, according to CNN. "Justin asked us to duet with him on his next record. It's in truth a really good song! The youngster is really talented. He plays five or six instruments really well."

Past musical collaborators with Justin Bieber have been Diddy, Drake, Ludacris, and Kanye West. So it pretty obvious that the "Beebs" likes himself some hip hop. Can the transition work? numerous think so, as Bieber has a huge following, and that can only extend to country, not repel it. Once mainly a following of teenage girls, Bieber's influence is starting to spread throughout all facets of music, thanks in part to his many 'eclectic' collaborators.

On Sunday, Bieber confirmed LeVox's statements via his twitter account while voicing accolades for the latter's county music group " I love @Rascal Flatts and I'm respected they are making music with me," he wrote "and for those that don't know .they have marvelous records like this one. #GREATMUSIC." It is reported that the 16 year old 2010 AMA artist of the year approached Rascal Flatts himself. Justin then included a link to a Beiber fan video with a Rascal Flatts song in the background. Obviously Bieber fans are excited for any fresh music by the Canadian, let alone a duet with another popular group such as Rascal Flatts, who have been heavy hitters in the country pop genre.

The singer is indeed working on new music for a new record. Last Sunday it was reported that Beiber was seen at Diddy's (Puff Daddy) New York recording studio working on tracks for a fresh album. Justin tweeted of how he "missed the recording studio" and how he made some "great records tonight."

True, Beiber has been on a hectic tour schedule, following the smash breakout success of his 2009 album, My world, released November of that year

The name and release date of the song have not yet been revealed. Bieber has said, however, that his voice is altering and that this will be reflected in his recent album and in his live shows. This is perfectly natural for a performer now aging in the spotlight, principally one such as Bieber who is touring so much.

"Some of the notes I hit on 'Baby' I can't hit anymore. We have to lessen the key when I sing live." Albeit I am sure in the future, Justin Bieber will continue to hit the right notes for his fans, which hold they're breath awaiting his forthcoming release, still untitled as of press time.
