It’s hard not to. My addiction started eight years ago. After I was put on bed rest while I was seven months pregnant with my first child, I picked up the book Harlequin’s Intrigue “The bodyguard’s assignment” and got hooked.
You’ll never see me without my nose page deep, or attached to my computer’s key board writing my own story inspired by one of the many novels on my book shelf. Although, I have wondered away from Harlequin and I have found some gems that kept me pre occupied for a while, Harlequin has always grabbed me back in.
Those who know Harlequin are more then familiar with their pages and know there are times when it seems to be the same plot just different characters. Which unfortunately is somewhat true. After eight years and three or more times a month visiting their website, I have read so many of their books that I’m fully aware of what authors that have been around for awhile and who are new and testing the waters.
One of my absolute favorite authors in Harlequin is Rita Herron. I have almost all of her novels that she has published through Harlequin. In fact there were three of her novels that were so suspenseful it had me running to the book store to get the next one. The book Last Kiss Goodbye had me rushing all over the state and the web to find it. My poor husband…I was driving him crazy. This is not a series, just three of my favorites. These might be a little harder to find, although if you happen to be in a mom and pop store or on the web grab them!
A Breath Away~
As mentioned in the intro this book is very suspenseful. I just recently re read this book and was surprised by parts of the book that I had forgot about. The way Rita Herron twisted the characters so you really didn’t know who the killer was until the end was so enjoyable. I loved all the little shocking details that you just don’t see coming. It was a very good read. Definitely one to pick up!
In A Heartbeat~
If you’re a Harlequin fan, this is one I strongly suggest looking up! The minute this book starts your heart is in your throat and you just can not stop turning the pages to find out what happens next. This is a 378 paged book and I finished it in less than three days. If you’re a Harlequin fan, this is one I strongly suggest looking up!
Last Kiss Goodbye~
An emotionally hard read, this had a brilliant way of keeping you captivated. Very well written with those little affecting grips that has your blanket to your nose and the book closer then normal to your face! From page one you are stuck between putting it down—because it is so hard to read what is happening—and rushing to find out what happens next. These three books are older and maybe a little hard to find, but well worth the effort!
