Darts '01 games, like Darts 101, 201, 301 etc. are all variations of a classic bar game common among the English. The game itself is relatively straightforward to set up and play. There's little hassle about acquiring the board and darts, however there are a few variations on the actual rules that you play with. These variations are not complex and can increase the playability and enjoyment of the game for many people.

To begin the game, you only need a dartboard and a few darts. You could actually use one set of darts and alternate between players, but many players will want to use their own darts. The rules are also very straightforward- each player begins with a predetermined a number of points- always a number over 100+1 (IE, 101, 301, 501, 1001) and players alternate hitting the dart board and lowering the total amount of points they have until a player reaches exactly zero. If a player falls below zero, they will forfeit the decrease. Sound straightforward enough? For a game of darts, its as simple as it gets, which may turn a few away from the game. If the standard Darts '01 game isn't interesting enough for you, there are several different extra rules and regulations you can try.

One of these is playing "double-in" or "double-out", which requires that you land a dart on the "doubles" section of the board to be eligible for play in the case of "double-out" you will need to land on the doubles section to actually gain victory. You can also mix things up by adding in more darts per player and turn. Require two darts be thrown at double score segments for points to count. Or you could require a bulls-eye after the "final" shot of the game.

Darts '01 games are perhaps the first type of dart game invented, and it's easy to see why they are still around today. The fun you can get from simply lobbing pointed darts at a round board with numbers on the edges is astounding. And the best part is, you can play the game almost anywhere, just be sure you don't hit the innocent bystanders!
