Traditional Chinese medicine has a 2500 year long history. There are remedies for all sorts of ailments including the back pain. Here are some back remedies you can consider.

TCM makes use of certain easy stretches to treat back stiffness. One such stretch requires you to lie down on your back on a firm floor or bed. Now fold your legs in the knees, with your feet firmly placed on the ground. Slowly bring your knees above your abdominal area. Now take a big breath. As you breathe out, slowly move your knees away from each other towards either side. As you move your knees towards the sides, you will feel a stretch in your inner thigh. Keep your eyes shut when you move your knees and focus on your back. This exercise relaxes your iliopsoas muscle which is connected to the lower back. Since this one works on the lumbar region, it is a good exercise for sciatica.

Another simple stretch suggested by traditional Chinese medicine is the table stretch. This exercise can help treat sciatica and other forms of back pain too. To practice this stretch, sit on a chair straight with a table in front of it. Now lean across the table and hold the most distant edge of the table with both of your hands. Now take a deep breath. Exhale and let your legs fall unreservedly on the floor. Focus on your back and try and feel the stretch. Hold this position for so long as you can and then come back to the standard position.

Chinese medicine does not only talk about stretches, it has some natural treatments for problems like sciatica too. The first one we will chat about here is the sesame and ginger liniment. To prepare this, you may need equal parts of sesame oil and ginger juice. Put both the ingredients together in a pan and heat it. You need to apply the warm mixture to the area affected to ease discomfort. Applying it hot will prompt heat in the areas affected which may be comforting. There is no defined time of use, you may use whenever you desire but ideal would be to use twice daily-after a bath and before retiring to bed.

Well, the previously mentioned concoction is good for every kind of back stiffness but not the ones that come from injury or wounds. If applied on wounds, your skin is probably going to turn red and itchiness may persist for some time. If you see rashes on your skin post application, you must discontinue its use.

The lumbar region self massage is an effective Chinese remedy for agony as well. Here, you are obliged to knead your back in up and back down motion with your fists. You knuckles can also be brought into play in the massage. You can use this to reduce discomfort and rigidity in the area affected. What's more, this massage therapy is highly effective for sciatica patients.

Use these normal Chinese treatments to cope with back stiffness effectively and forever.
