In fact, people looking for ways to gain weight fast can finally find victory by taking another look at how they consume carbohydrates and add them to their mass building diet.

For example, for the average person, consuming carbohydrates helps prevent muscle from being broken down and robbed for energy. These carbohydrates tend to break down rather quickly within the body and they tend to cause a rapid release of sugar into the blood. This rapid release of sugar into the blood then triggers a rise in the level of the hormone known as insulin. This has a dramatic effect on weight gain.

Specifically, that insulin would normally cause you to gain weight in the form of fat if you eat these types of fast-digesting carbs at the wrong times. However, timing your high-glycemic carb intake at the right times will not only avoid gaining the wrong kind of weight, but also help you gain lean muscle tissue, especially if you're naturally skinny and have a hard time gaining weight.

When you train intensely, you use up the stored sugar in your muscles. If you're looking for fast weight gain, you need to resupply that stored sugar fast. If you don't, it will destroy muscle tissue and use it for fuel, rather than building it up bigger (which is what you want, after all).

The second tip that should be taken into consideration is to take in more foods with a high glycemic content about an hour after a vigorous workout. This is a very useful tip especially for people known as hardgainers. Hargainers can afford to have a high blood sugar level, as this will help them to gain weight faster.

The third tip that needs to be considered is that it is a very good idea to have a drink that contains a lot of sugar during your workout if you're trying to gain weight fast. This high sugary drink will start to replace any stored sugar that's pulled out of your muscles during your workout. This helps you avoid the excess breakdown of lean muscle tissue and jumpstarts the recovery process to actually build more muscle and gain weight fast.
