One of the most annoying symptoms of eczema is the itchy skin. The steps here should help you to stop eczema itching fairly quickly.

It is important that you pay attention to the advice offered in this article because scratching your eczema may ease the itch momentarily, but what you are actually doing, is making the condition worse.

When you scratch at itchy eczema you run the risk of opening up the sores which not only leads to the skin starting to weep, but also increases the chances of the affected area becoming infected. Believe me when I tell you that an infection will greatly worsen the situation.

Take heed of the following steps and you should be able to get relief for eczema fairly quickly.

1. When you scrub wash your hands, you are essentially reducing your body's natural oils which are produced to protect and moisturize the skin. This leads to the skin becoming dryer, which will lead to eczema symptoms.

Make sure that you use a hand wash or soap which contains no synthetic chemicals or alcohol. You something that has a natural base and moisturizer as its main ingredient. This will ensure that moisturizer will enter the skin and prevent it from becoming dry.

2. You may not be fully aware of this, but you probably scratch at your skin quite a lot while you are sleeping. While you are asleep your brain oes not understand that scratching is bad. It will sense the eczema itching and tell your hands to scratch it.

To limit the scratching, wear a pair of cotton gloves when you go to sleep. Although this will not completely prevent you from rubbing the skin, it will stop your fingernails from digging into the skin when you scratch.

3. There are many types of materials that our bodies come into contact with, and some of these materials can really aggravate the skin. This is not something that you want if you have eczema.

Make sure that your clothing and bedding is made from cotton, as it is a much kinder material for eczema.

4. Try to get as much moisture into your skin as you can. The best way to keep your skin from drying out is to use something like coconut oil or olive oil, as these are very good for the health of the skin.

Apply moisturizer after a warm bath when the pores of the skin are open. This will help the oil to penetrate deeper into your skin and keep it moist for much longer.

If you want avoid the constant irritation, then use these methods because they will help you to stop eczema itching and calm the skin.
