When planning her wedding, a woman is looking for this to be the most special day of her life. One of the important decisions she will make about this occasion is transporting herself, her family, her bridal party and guests to the ceremony. Also, if the reception is held at another location, guests will need to be transported to that location as well.

Many brides will opt for limousine service for the wedding party and immediate family. Not only does this offer the ultimate in convenience, but there are often special services designed specifically for weddings. In fact, it is not uncommon for Limousine services to have assorted wedding packages a bride and her family can choose from.

As with all wedding services, limousine services do book out in advance, especially for the very popular spring wedding season. It is important that a bride start looking into limo service at least 6 months before the wedding date.

Prior to selecting a service, the bride should have a very good idea what her expectations and requirements are. How many people will be transported? What types of vehicles are offered and the bride’s preference for types of vehicles?

Will all parties meet in one place, or will the service need to make multiple stops to pick people up and drop them later? Remember that multiple stops can be costly. Is the driver willing to make stops for photo opportunities?

Will food and/or beverages be provided with the service? It is not uncommon for Limousine services to offer a bottle of champagne for the bride and groom. Is red carpet service offered or desired? Will the limo stay on site for the ceremony and reception so the wedding party and guests can leave personal items in the vehicle? Will the service help transport wedding gifts and other items, such as wedding and reception decorations to the vehicle after the reception ends?

Will the price quoted be per hour or for the entire event? Some services will have minimum hours. Be sure you understand what is and is not included in the price.

Customer Service

You certainly have every right to expect your vehicle to arrive spotless, both on the inside and out. Your driver should be dressed appropriately and treat you and your wedding party with the utmost respect and courtesy.

It would be wise to do some type of due diligence on the limo service prior to signing a contract. It is reasonable to ask for references. Also, you should ask about the type of due diligence the limousine company does in hiring their drivers. What type of training do the drivers receive prior to your event?

Safety and Security

The safety and security of yourself and your guests is, of course, of paramount importance. A limousine service, should be licensed and insured for the type of business and services being offered. It is always advisable to check for complaints against a company prior to hiring them, especially for your very special day.
