Most affiliate marketers focus their efforts on lower-end of the product pool. There are many reasons why you should consider selling high-ticket products. This article will discuss some of the benefits and drawbacks of high-paying affiliate programs.

The obvious benefit of joining high-paying affiliate programs is that their products cost more. This means that you'll receive a much larger commission per sale, so you wouldn't have to send as much traffic to your link.

For example, Global Resorts offers products that cost $2,000 with 50% commission going to you for every sale. The typical digital ebook from Clickbank costs $47 with 50% commissions. If you send 100 visitors to each link and one person buys, you'll receive a lot more from the higher-end program.

However, this is a two-edged sword with affiliate programs that pay more. Potential customers may not be willing to part with their money for a high-ticket product. People wouldn't show as much hesitation when faced with a $20 or $50 product though.

It's also important to mention that you should think about something else besides the initial price. Some of the best affiliate programs offer recurring commissions which are a very good thing. They allow you to earn money from a single person for months to come.

You should also be aware that you aren't limited to affiliate programs that pay only when a visitor buys something. There are programs, called CPA or cost per action programs, that pay you whenever a visitor completes a certain action. This usually comes in the form of filling in their email address on a form.

These higher-paying programs aren't for everyone. It takes a bit of skill in order to sell high ticket products. Initial failure may turn some people off. It's much easier to sell lower-end products in the beginning.

Following this advice will allow you to gain experience before you jump into the deep end of the marketing pool. Once you start making lower-end sales, you'll begin to see what works and what doesn't. Then you can easily repeat the process and focus on more expensive offerings.

As an affiliate marketer, you shouldn't feel that you should only promote inexpensive products. You have the possibility to make much more money if you try your hand at promoting high-paying affiliate programs. Just make sure you focus on products people actually need, so they won't be as hesitant to spend their money.
