If you want to develop six pack abs, the process can be quite simply if you choose it to be. Contrary to popular belief, it can be done with only dumbbells and your body's weight. It could be quite fast to see some promising results too.

Another belief that is so untrue is that you can do this while doing just some spot exercises. This is so far from the truth. You will never see someone who has a six pack while at the same time having flabby arms. The way to having great looking abs is to have a great looking body. There is just no other way.

The reason why the belief that spot exercises can do wonders for you is because most people want quick results and avoid hard work. But when it comes to fitness, you really have no other but to work hard if you want to see some results.

Looking for quick results is a mindset that you should avoid at all costs. In addition to having minimal impact and results, it will just lead to lots of failure and frustration. You ultimate goal should be having a great and healthy body. Actually, it might be good for you to focus on the health of your body first and looks later. The first one is to lose some extra weight and fat. The second one is to strengthen your core muscles. These are the foundation of your body and will greatly help you to have some nice looking abs. The third one is to build the muscles all over your body so you should look like a lean machine.

Once you get to the point where you understand all this and apply them accordingly, having the abdominals you are dreaming of will be peanuts. If you keep building up the muscles all over your body, not only will you look good, these muscles will actually help you lose weight automatically because of their ability to increase your metabolism rate to insane levels.

Of course, to have these muscles, you need to work out. The best way for everyone to start off is by using their body weight and some dumbbells. This is very convenient as you do not have to go to the gym; you can do it right in your living room. You can even do these workouts while watching your favorite TV shows.

A full body workout using your body weight and dumbbells is infinitely better than doing some painful crunches and leg lifts. your whole body will benefit from what you are doing and you are also increasing your strength and stamina at the same time.

So with all that said, I really feel that you should always opt for a full body workout instead of the popular but ultimately ineffective spot exercises that are always advertised everywhere. A full body workout will give your body a ton of benefits such as building muscles, increasing metabolism rate, strengthening your joints and other body parts, and increasing your overall stamina.
