Argentina is just under 3,700 kilometers in length. That is from North to South. Its Northern parts border on the tropical areas of South America, while its South reaches down to close to Antarctica.
Down the length of the country is the spectacular range of Andes Mountains. These divide Peru on the West from Argentina on the East.
The width of the country varies, about 1,400 kilometers at its widest, tapering down to a narrow “point” in the South where it reaches the Island of Tierra del Fuego, which is divided between Peru and Argentina.
Geographically, the country is divided up into four main regions:
The Gran Chaco is the name given to the parts in the North. This has seasonal rainfall, so it is sometimes wet and sometimes dry. It is mixed forests, scrub, and wetlands. It is rich in wildlife. Here you will find the provinces of Chaco, Formosa, and Santiago del Estero.
Mesopotamia, as in the Middle East; is a land between two rivers. These rivers are the Paraná and Uruguay rivers. This is both farming area as well as tropical and rain forest area. The famous Iguazú Falls are to be found here. This part includes the provinces of Corrientes, Entre Rios, Misiones.
The Pampas is the area of plains that Argentina is famous for. These are the grasslands where their world renown beef cattle were bred. This part includes the provinces of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Santa Fe, La Pampa, and San Luis.
Patagonia includes the Southern provinces of Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut and Santa Cruz,as well as part of the Island of Tierra del Fuego.
Property investment in Argentina is most certainly one of the safest investments you can make.
