Sailing through continents in a work of art. All you need to do is go to the Kansas University Art Museum to experience photorealism which was really big during the 70s. You might not know what is pigment and what is celluloid in this case.

When it comes to this art form, there is something involved that is referred to as a working medium. A photograph is used as a guide and the painter will replicate the image onto a canvass. An exhibit was specially organized by two friends, one of them a leading aviation and aerospace attorney, to showcase the paintings of 22 artists. Simple but spectacular is how the pieces can be described.

There was this artist who was always into painting horses. Holding a model plane, one of the two brothers stands near the horse that his sister is riding. Starting with a floating plane in a bathtub, one of the artists used a number of his old toys like a toy car which was positioned beside a toy helicopter. For another artist, on an aquarium floor lay a small toy plane.

For each painting, the techniques used by the artists vary tremendously and this is why there is so much definition and clarity that can be seen in such works of art. Here, there were artists who resorted to the use of grids and this was a common practice by Renaissance artists when they needed to enlarge their sketches for murals.

There was a painting done of an air borne fighter jet. It is admirable that the artists were able to make use of clear, precise lines and color in creating their masterpieces. Another artist, whose specialty is antique photographs, has prepared a relatively small work resembling a tinted photograph of an early American air ship.

What is so amazing about painting a photograph' By using a picture as a guide, the artist loses any personal connection with the piece. Manipulating the material is what is left for the artist to do. Using brushes and air guns can help artists in photorealism to deliver precise lines in their paintings.

All of the exhibited artists are gifted in this field of art. Lately, so much of the pieces up on display in galleries are unrecognizable and this is something that can provide people with clear cut paintings to look at. There was a connection that took place in the Whitney Museum in New York when the 22 artist show was exhibited.

A new day, a moment relived. A painting can cost a lot because of the time it takes for one to be finished. Here are some of the most amazing paintings you will see. Every brush stroke was carefully applied.
