One of the major hurdles as a franchise owner is setbacks and that's why you should be able to handle them no matter what. When most people get into business for themselves they tend to crumble under pressure and you cannot do that. When running a store you need to be strong and use every setback as just a running start to get further.
Can you see yourself running a business?
Have you ever ran a business before? One thing that lots of individuals think is that they can very easily operate a company but the truth of the matter is, will you be able to.Running a company is the same as running a store except operating a store you will have more help. If you can't imagine yourself operating a large thriving business then it might be that a franchise is not the best fit.
Do you have what it takes to let others down?
Operating a business of any type means you will have to be playing both roles as good cop and bad cop. What lots of people don't understand is you have to be able to let others down without making them mad at you. When I say let others down you must be able to look after your franchise so that it doesn't go under. If you can't fire an employee or tell them to go and do something then you most likely don't have what it takes.
What happens next if the franchise doesn't make any money?
If you can't make any money what will you do next? Will you keep on attempting to make it work or will you close up shop and go back to a normal 9-5 job? Maybe you'll try your hand with the up and coming uptown cheapskate franchise? Whatever it could be you should have some clue of what your plan consists of.
