Each year many children are considered as possible ADHD, due to the fact that the symptoms for this disorder are typically child behaviors. That only adds to the degree of difficulty and frustration for many parents. The symptoms can also come in varying degrees and types, adding to this frustration. A parent should then try to avoid a snap decision about whether their child is truly ADHD. An accurate assessment can only be made by a trained medical professional. Below we talk about 3 symptoms of ADHD in hope of shedding some light on the disorder.

Boys and girls will often have very different ADHD symptoms and behavior. It's really true, and that is one thing that we feel many parents do not realize. boys will often show symptoms of hyperactivity. On the flip side girls will be more inattentive. However, even if just looking at inattentiveness there are differences there as well. Boys will play with things or just mess around when they are being inattentive. For a girl though she is more likely to sit and daydream when inattentive.

Of course, all children forget things. Obviously, this symptom type is amazing. We all forget things on occasion. That happens to everyone and even institutional settings because we have all read about it.

So, of course, the ADHD child will forget things in much more frequency than what seems normal. Normal for your child will need to be gauged by you the parent. You know when something like forgetting or being forgetful is happening far too much and seems to have been going on for too long. When compared to a child without ADHD you will see that a child with ADHD forgets more often. When you notice this pattern, start to record the time frame that this goes on.

An accurate diagnosis of ADHD of child takes observation of multiple symptoms. Of course, that is the job of a professional. Also, look at the relationships the child is involved in, especially if their are problems within them. That can be the case either between children or adults. It is vital that this behavior is observed over a long time frame like six months.

An evaluation by your family physician is necessary if you feel your child has had these symptoms for a long period of time.
