Some semblance of normality, what is on our screens is moving ever closer to the real thing. DVD in 3D brings with it the opportunity to forget that what we see are mere images, just pictures. Before DVD in 3D there were a host of developments, black and white terrestrial to colour and so on it went.
The quality of what exactly we see, and the same improvements in the dynamic change of entertainment displayed in picture format however as to whether it has changed with the times is still up for debate. Has the advent of DVD in 3D come to a world void of the same type of inspirational technological developments that we see in the physical hardware? What is contained in our DVD in 3D which was never present before?
Are we as creators, as artists actually moving with the times to the same steady tune and pace as technological advancements? Certainly DVD in 3D brings with it opportunity for more, the chance to benefit enormously the entertainment experience, but are the production companies taking fullest advantage. When real life is the target, will DVD in 3D actually bring that to us as consumers? Certainly special effects have come on to the point where we are unsure of what is unreal. It is the watchers searching and seeking to tell the difference between the computer generated and the real that is the driving force behind the hardware.
DVD in 3D perhaps may bring a new advent where there is no opportunity to question this. That which is placed in front of our eyes with DVD quality images that which literally jump out at us, is should grab us too, right? When expectancy is so high, how can the consumer demand for total emersion be garnered? Whilst DVD in 3D is the optimum in viewing capability has DVD in 3D got the backing of enough producers of motion pictures producers with passion?
The formulas are known by these production houses, we see every day the same run of the mill being provided to us, first the cinema takes them in, then they litter the shelves in the DVD store. DVD in 3D brings with it an unbridled opportunity for so much more, it is in the interests of these production houses to come out and meet the demands of the viewing public, pushing to get out of the box with hardware capabilities the very most, it is a technology that really leave no limits unattainable.
If they continue in the domain that has already been achieved then the advent of DVD in 3D technology will have been a wasted opportunity. There is the potential for so much more with DVD in 3D, there is the chance to bring the viewer right back to the days of wonder and innocence when home viewing wasn't possible when the cinema going public watched the World's very first motion picture, and ducked out of the way when that train came bursting forth on the screen.
To take the viewer right back, and to take them forward all over again that is possible, surely DVD in 3D and all the possibility that goes with it will not be wasted with the tried and trusted at nausea forever.
