Korea National Airlines was the original name of Korean Air which had their beginnings in 1948. Up until 1962, when they had to file bankruptcy, Korean Air had been a privately owned business. After yet another rough beginning in 1969, the structure of today's Korean Air was initially created. Towards the end of the 1960's, after their third and very last start, they transformed into an inspiring company, as their size increased times one hundred and fifty. For the near future, they have pronounced their fortitude to repeat their stabs for growth. As a company, the individual thing which has allowed them to persevere is their readiness for an understanding and ability to change. They have demonstrated this ability numerous times in the face of many challenges.
Not too long ago, in the late 2000's, Korean Air earned its spot as one of the top airlines worldwide. They have expanded their business, since 1969, to 150 times its initial size. They currently have over 120 aircraft and almost as many worldwide destinations showing that they have come a long way. A founding member, Korean Air is part of the aviation consortium Sky Team.
All over the world, they have partnerships with some of the largest airlines. KLM, Air France and Delta are among the members of these partnerships. KAL continues to set their standards higher each passing year.
Since the very beginning, Korean Air Lines has always focused on keeping its air fleet up to date. They use their wide variety of aircraft for both passenger carriers as well as cargo ferrying.
Some of their aircraft are solely used for development and research for aerospace. It only took a few years for them to go from a domestic service and expand their boundaries in this way. KAL, once it acquired the appropriate aircraft, saw new routes to North America as well as Europe in the mid-70s. Purchasing an Airbus airliner was their first step in providing routes for their customers to the Pacific Rim and Asia proper.
Also involved with research and manufacturing, Korean Air is entangled with the aerospace industry. This is a strong point of the company and they continue to expand. Manufacturing a variety of licensed versions of aircraft, Korean Air Aerospace Division is their research division. A few of the aircraft that they license are UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters and MD-500 aircraft. Involved with other military aircraft, they also have similar licensed manufacturing projects. Providing various transport needs for the military, Korean Air has branched out into other areas.
Korean Air began to see a lot of nobility and goings-on once there was an onset of the 2000's decade. For their frequent flyer line ups, they have gone on to treasure even more gains in respect. The array of flight classes they have available have obviously developed more throughout the years. Achieving these milestones was not an easy task as the company had to overcome difficulties in earlier years. Nevertheless, they persisted at increasing their aviation management team and they believed it to be one area that they weren't very good at from the start.
