Women like you are very particular with their facial skin. But aside from the popular cleanse, tone, and moisturize steps, here are additional steps and information to help you achieve that facial skin you've always wanted.

STEP 1

Know your skin type. Basically, your skin could either be oily, dry, or combination of both oily and dry skin. You have an oily skin if you always end up with a shiny and sticky face at the end of the day. Dry skin is usually manifested by presence of rough skin flakes accompanied by a feeling like that of having a tight mask over your face. Combination of both usually involves an oily T-zone (the area involving your forehead and nose) and dry skin on the rest of your face.

STEP 2

A lot of products are available in the market that claims to give you beautiful skin. But before grabbing that facial scrub or facial toner, it is important to know the basics when it comes to choosing the right products for you. Use facial products appropriate for your skin type starting from your cleanser, your toner, down to your moisturizer.

Women with oily skin can benefit from using products with ingredients known to tighten pores. An example of which are products with Witch Hazel extract that also leaves a cooling effect on your face.

Women with dry skin should opt for products that contain moisturizers. Avoid using those with ingredients such as that of denatured alcohol which can lead to further drying of your skin.

Women with combination of oily and dry skin should use appropriate products stated above on specific areas of their face.

STEP 3

Wash your face once or twice a day with clean water. Women with oily skin can wash their face more than twice to avoid build up of oil and dirt that leads to pimples and acne. They can also use gentle exfoliating scrubs to remove deep-seated dirt from enlarged pores.

On the other hand, women with dry skin should limit washing their face to twice a day and should avoid using facial scrubs that can further strip off the natural moisture of their face.

Both women with oily and combination skin can run ice cubes over their problem areas to naturally tighten their pores.

STEP 4

Avoid habitual touching of your face. Remember that your hands can harbor harmful and infectious microorganisms that you might transfer to your face. Make sure that everything that touches your face is clean. This includes you towels, facial sponges, and even your make-up brushes. This prevents you from acquiring facial skin problems like pimples and acne which are usually due to dirt and infectious microorganisms.

STEP 5

Never forget to drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday. Nothing beats the healthy effects of water when it comes to flushing out toxins from your skin and keeping it supple and hydrated all the time.

See how these simple steps can make a big difference with your overall facial look and glow. Follow these 5 easy steps in your daily facial routine and you will achieve a healthy and beautiful facial skin.
