While it's not very common at all for memory to fail it does happen, say your computer is sending an error message that you've never seen before and when you look it up you come to the sad realization that your computers' memory is failing. The good news is that it's not all too challenging to find out if this is really the case. All you have to do is find yourself a memory testing program on the internet, you can find a good one at www.memtest86.com, then you copy it to a CD, then once it's downloaded you keep the disk in your computer and restart it, then once you computer restarts it will load this program instead of windows. This actually takes quite some time so I would suggest doing this right before you go to bed and leaving it till morning. If there are no errors then your memory is good to go, if there are errors it's time to get yourself a new memory stick.
