So, you've decided it's the best time you start losing some weight, and that working out regularly would be a good place to begin. If you haven't worked out for some time, or never, you may not know how to get moving. It might even feel a little scary, commitment wise. All you have to do is get going and walk. You definitely must add walking into your exercise plan if you haven't done so already.
You'll be surprised how easy it is to squeeze walking into your exercise regimen. Are you a dog owner? Take your pet for a nice, long walk. Anything less than 10 minutes doesn't count. 10 minutes may not seem like a long time to walk, but over the course of a month, or even a week, it adds up quickly. You can double this by just taking your dog for a walk two times per day. Or how about walking to workplace, or at least some of the way? Evidently, if you live don't live anywhere close to your office, it's not such a great idea to walk all the way there every day (but feel free to try if you think you can do it!) A half an hour walk to work is manageable, and if you walk to and from work you'll be walking for an hour per day. If you use the bus to get to your place of work, simply begin using a stop that's a little farther from either end. It's not at all difficult to incorporate walking in your daily life.
Walking is great for your body and overall health. It's simply because walking is one of the most effective aerobic exercises. This means it's not only good for your heart, but you'll get rid of extra pounds too. You can go at a moderately slow pace if you need to, so don't be concerned that you're going to hurt your muscles or joints as you might if you went for a run. I have a brother who's one of those folks who ingests a ton of junk and fast food but never gets bigger. How does he do it? He told me he's never truly thought about it, but possibly it's because he walks quite a bit every day. When he mentioned that, things suddenly became clear. Walking is uncomplicated exercise, so there simply isn't any good excuse for you to not walk.
When you establish walking as a part of your everyday schedule, it will become more effortless to stay with it, and as a bonus you'll begin to notice you're getting thinner, too. You won't have to worried about motivation, since walking is not all that strenuous, and you'll be delighted at how much better you feel. As you walk more and see changes, you'll want to do more or up the level of intensity of your walks. Why should you hold back, if you think you can do a lot more? Who knows? It could be that you'll get used to walking a lot that you decide to give jogging a try. From there, you can advance to more strenuous exercises.
Now the truth is out - there is simply no excuse to not get out there and start walking. You can always find time to walk around your work complex, or the block. If that's not possible, get a gym membership and get on a treadmill. There are multiple ways to skin this exercise cat.
