I imagine it is assuredly difficult to detect any cinema lover that does not know Francis Coppola`s masterpiece “The Godfatherâ€. First I must confess that gang films are my preferred ones. I adore them and “The Godfather†is appropriate standard of cinema that should be seen. I have seen this exceptional title many times and it is not at any time gets old .
The film starting as boss of a New York Mafia clan don Vito Corleone oversees his admired daughter's Connie Corleone union to Carlo Rizzi. Music, people dancing and songs is all over the place. The single thing that troubles marriage fiest is police watching on colorful party. Vito Corleone`s youngster son Michael just arrived family home from the world war II and is not intended to turn into part of his father's corrupt affairs. Vito Corleone is wearing out and subconsciously is waiting for courageous superior to continue family business. Through Michael's difficult and unstable life film shows us the secrets of the mafia clan shady business. The great “Business†of the clan is alike don Vito Corleone - merciful and generous to those who give obey and loyalty, but fierce and vicious whenever anything stands opposing well-being of the mafia family. Old don lives his life in the direction of the old country does, but times are evolving very rapidly and many so called “friends†or family members don't want to lead the old-time way. Rising opponent of the Corleone kind is considering to begin business of transferring drugs in New York and needs the old Don's guidance to develop further his intent. The conflict of the Vito`s vanishing outdated world values and the new ways of “doing business†will demand its penalty.
To be brief - all of Michael's family is tangled with the mafia game but Michael wants to live a normal life and keep distance from his blood shady games. At the same time drug vendor Virgil Sollozzo is begging for all Mafia families patronage and offer him shield in exchange for an earnings from the drug affairs. He further trying to talk to mafia boss Don Corleone about this business idea but, much in the face of the practical forewarning of the old Don's attorney Tom Hagen, the old Don is to the end against the aroma of drugs in family affairs, and ignores the proposition. As you can imagine this old minded declaration will not delight drug merchant Sollozzo. Tired don Vito Corleone gets gunned down by some of Sollozzo trusty men but by lucky break he survives murder shot and this action forces his son Michael to make over his life for all time by beginning a bloodthirsty mafia war opposing drug boss Sollozzo…
Beyond spoiling any major details i want to state that this movie is total master work. The first godfather picture and sequels are an excellent set of movies that i think will continue to live with us and our chrildren. It is because this cinema employs tons of sentiment, nostalgia, self-importance, adoration, dependability, corruption, honor, cheating and betrayal. In a few weeks after it was made public, it was clearly a cinematic Cosa nostra legend with exceptional performances of actors. Each camera shot in this cinematics is supremely done. From the initial opening speech with many memorable lines along to the last shot at the end...
