Other than looking pretty, it's also good for someone to feel pretty. If the products you put on your face are important then, so are the things that you put in your mouth. Or, better yet, the quality of the things you put in your mouth.
Now, I'm not talking about expiration dates and things like that because that's pretty obvious but what I'm referring to is something that is not as obvious.
Let me ask you a question, when was the last time you cleaned your fridge?
I, myself, have never really given any thought to cleaning my fridge. As long as I see no dirty spots or anything, I assume that everything's in tip-top shape. But if you think about it, a dirty fridge really is something that should be given attention.
When the fridge is closed, the light goes off and cold and dark places are supposedly a good breeding ground for bacteria. That, in itself, freaked me out. If it freaked you out as well, then don't worry because I bring to you a very simple, and do-able, way to clean your fridge.
First off, let's talk about the things that you're going to need. You're going to need a mild dish soap, a kitchen sponge or anything clean that you can wipe with and of course baking soda.
The very first thing that you're going to need to do is to turn the temperature control on your fridge off. Some models of refrigerators have this pan below it to catch the dripping. What you're going to need to do is take that out and clean it up.
The next thing is pretty obvious. Take everything out from your fridge and sort through it. Throw out anything that's expired or that has gone bad.
Once the fridge is empty of food, take all the parts that can be removed out of the fridge. This would include the racks, the drawers and pretty much anything and everything that you can remove from the fridge. This is the first thing that's going to receive a wash down.
Use the mild dish soap and wash the racks and drawers thoroughly. Be sure to check for food particles and remove every inch of dirt that you can see on them. Once everything is done, rinse the racks and drawers with warm water. Leave these out to completely dry.
Then, check the bottom of your fridge for any fallen food particles. Be sure to get rid of those as well. Afterwards, wash every inch of the inside of your fridge. Use the mild dish soap and sponge and don't forget all the compartments in your fridge. When you're done with that, rinse the inside of your fridge with a sponge and some warm water.
In case your fridge smells funky, this is where the baking soda comes in. take 2 tbsp. of baking soda and 5 cups of warm water and use this mixture to rinse the inside of your fridge.
Your racks and drawers should be dry by now so, place it all back into the fridge. Once everything is back, it's now time to give some attention to the outside of the fridge. Use some warm, soapy water with the sponge and wipe the outside of the fridge as well as the rubber around the door.
Turn the temperature control back on to how it was before cleaning. Take every food item that's still in good condition and wipe it down before you put it back into the fridge.
Doing this whole routine once a week will definitely make for a more hygienic food storage. This will help you start feeling pretty in no time.
